From now on, when purchasing a Tesla, customers will be required to take a demonstration ride to experience the car’s autonomous driving capabilities before receiving the vehicle.

This is a direct order from the brand’s CEO, Elon Musk, according to a new report from Bloomberg. The demonstration includes the installation and activation of the latest version of Tesla’s full self-driving package, known as FSD V12.3.1.

Although Musk acknowledges that this may delay the delivery process, he believes that the experience of seeing the FSD in action will encourage more people to opt for the $12,000 upgrade.

However, buyers should be cautious about Musk’s promises regarding the FSD, which despite previous claims by the CEO about its profit potential, has not yet reached the expected levels of autonomy.
